OMC students in grades 4 through 8 are invited to participate in student government as an opportunity to help guide the academic, social, and spiritual direction of the school. Involvement in student council fosters the skills of leadership, responsibility, and altruism through community outreach, charitable works, and school spirit.

Special events sponsored by Student Council include Halloween Tag Day, Box of Joy Tag Day, Thanksgiving Bake Sale, Secret Santa Shop, Lunch with Santa,  Christmas PJ Day, and Valentine’s Tag Day just to name a few. Student Council representatives also guide visitors through the school during Catholic Schools Week.

Student council participants serve as liaison between their fellow students and the faculty and staff of OMC. As such, they are expected to exemplify the scholarly and spiritual values of the school, both within the physical building and throughout the parish and neighborhood communities.
